Each garden can feed about 50 people. What’s more is that the garden is self-sustaining, meaning that it can continue to generate the food the community needs indefinitely.

Many of the communities generate a surplus of food which can then be sold for profit, generating a viable income stream to help with further economic development.

The desperation that comes from not having basic needs met is replaced with hope, and the ability to begin long-term planning and development.

We’ve helped hundreds of communities since 2012

Since our inception in 2012, Harvest Gardens has been steadfast in our mission to empower communities by achieving food security. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of helping build more than 200 community gardens. These gardens are more than just plots of land; they are sources of sustainable nourishment for thousands and stepping stones to economic opportunities for many who have never had them.

Our approach is grounded in education and sustainability. We teach community members sustainable farming techniques that they can replicate and adapt in other locations. This means that the impact of our work reverberates far beyond the immediate benefits of fresh produce. Each garden becomes a seedbed for further growth, knowledge, and empowerment, extending our mission’s reach and impact.
